My micro bakery equipment!

It can often be overwhelming understanding which equipment to start investing in for your micro bakery. I started slow and grew my micro bakery very organically, from previous savings and then, as the business grew, I re-invested everything into the business to invest in more equipment. Below I list a few of my favourite bakery equipment items and tools that set me up so well for a successful business.

Lily’s loaf is a thoughtful plant based micro bakery in South London.

I founded my small business during the COVID 19 lockdown, when freelance work was scarce and I simply couldn't find a full time job. This left me feeling pretty useless and very low. So I decided the only way out was to create a job and structure for myself by following a dream I'd had for years. I decided to follow my dream of running my own bakery which caters to those with similar food allergies. Ever since I was a baby, I have been severely allergic to dairy, eggs and nuts so wanted to create a space for others to enjoy delicious baked goods... and the rest is history!

Since then, we have delivered to local customers, supplied local businesses, traded at farmer's markets in South London and continued to grow my presence online both on Instagram and YouTube.

The future of Lily's Loaf: 2024

I now provide online courses (how to start a micro bakery business) to help others start their own businesses. Lily also hopes to offer in person workshops teaching others how to make freshly baked bread, buns and more from her home in London.
